It seems that you really can’t have it all. She’s only just turned 21, is one of the stars of the massively successful Harry Potter franchise and has an estimated £24 million in the bank yet Emma Watson has no luck when it comes to love.
It appears that the young starlet gets just as worked up about the dating game as us muggles do. Speaking to the Sunday Times she said: “I say to my friends, ‘Why hasn’t X called me? Why doesn’t anyone ever pursue me?’ They’re like, ‘Probably because they’re intimidated.’ It must be the fame wall. It must be the circus that goes around me. Me, as a person, I find it hard to believe I would be intimidating.”
Miss Watson is constantly struggling to maintain a normal life, despite being one of the most famous actresses in the world. She was just ten years-old when she was cast as Hermione Granger, and since then her world has turned upside down.
After finishing the final Harry Potter film she enrolled at Brown University and attempted life as a normal student. However, this was not to last as she recently revealed that she has now dropped out of the prestigious Ivy League school: “I was in denial, I wanted to pretend I wasn’t as famous as I was. I was trying to seek out normality, but I kind of have to accept who I am.”
While I would like to trade places with her over anybody else, I have to admit that I actually feel really sorry for Emma. It can’t have been easy to grow up in the public eye and while I know plenty of men that would gladly take her out for a date, you would never know if people were interested in you for your fame or just for you.
Despite all this pressure, Emma seems to have grown into a sensible young woman and shows no signs of pulling a Lindsay Lohan any time soon.
