X Factor wild child Frankie Cocozza has been axed from the show… are we suprised?
The shaggy haired rocker apparently broke one of the shows ‘golden rules’ by bragging about using Cocaine, but it gets better, he said it in front of the production staff!
He has released a statement today apologising to his mentor Gary Barlow and all his fans who had voted to keep him in the show so far, he admitted things had gotten ‘out of control’ and admitted breaking the competition rules.
He said: “I’d like to apologise to Gary, my fellow contestants and everyone who has voted for me, but, as of today, I will no longer be in the X Factor.”
“My life during the show has gone out of control and my behaviour off stage has over-stepped the rules of the competition. I no longer deserve my place in the show, so I am therefore leaving.
“I would like to thank everyone who has supported me.”
And this isn’t the first time Frankie has been linked to drugs, as his first girlriend, Yasmin Griffith, this weekend revealed how Frankie turned to narcotics when they split up last year. The painful break-up sent the singer down a dark path when he turned to drink, drugs and started smoking.
Yasmin told a Sunday newspaper that Frankie “went off the edge and became this different scary person”.
An X Factor spokesperson confirmed Frankie’s departure, whilst a show source revealed earlier Frankie is said to be ‘devastated’.
Hmm… I’m not so convinced, this all seems a little ‘staged’ to me, Frankie was clearly not the most popular contestant and the last couple of weeks didn’tparticularly seem to be enjoying himself, maybe this was planned, maybe he did this on purpose to create a reason to leave the show?
Either way, he definitely outstayed his welcome. Sorry Frankie.
