So the royal wedding is over and it is time to run commentary over the fashion hits and misses of the day.
It’s only right that we comment on the head of the family first. Her majesty, bless her, looked so bright and cute in her yellow outfit. Very appropriate for the season and almost a statement of happiness.
Prince Harry looked dashing in his uniform and the otherwise confident prince actually appeared to look nervous as he walked through Westminster Abbey with his brother, the groom.
As for Princess Beatrice, well…. that was one strange hat and whilst we love the fact that she was so daring and outlandish with the design she wore we feel the design would have been bang on if it had had a bit of asymmetry. Princess Beatrice’s Valentino outfit, however, was lovely. Her sister Princess Eugenie’s hat and outfit on the other hand was pretty awful! She looked like she was wearing an old lady’s wedding outfit and it seemed too tight for her mid-riff which just accentuated her belly.
Long standing friend of the royal family Tara Palmer Tomkinson looked beautiful in royal blue. Very regal indeed. The Deborah Milner dress was so divine. Where she let it down was the lack of variation. It would have been nice if she had added in silver to take away from the head to toe matching colour scheme. For example, some highly bling silver diamante footwear and a silver clutch would have complimented the outfit beautifully.
Guy Ritchie looked a little rough but then he’s always looked a bit “down to earth”. He seemed very happy and genuinely in good spirits. He has a most sincere warmth about him when he smiles. David Beckham too looked in high spirits and looked dashing but his wife Victoria had her usual miserable face on display which really is an annoyance. Someone please tell her she would look prettier and more amiable with a smile on her face!
Kate Middleton’s mother looked ever so elegant and classy in her Catherine Walker outfit and her sister Pippa looked very sweet and angelic. Her brother on the other hand certainly carries a smug look on his face which is not so endearing and so that’s all we’ll say about him.
The Prime Minister’s wife Samantha Cameron wore a boring ruched outfit which really would have benefited from an ornate hat or some statement jewellery. In our opinion the whole thing fell flat.
Last but not least, Prince William looked smart and sophisticated like his bother and Kate Middleton looked beautiful in her wedding dress designed by Sarah Burton of fashion house Alexander McQueen. The dress very much echoed Grace Kelly’s wonderful royal wedding dress and the exquisitely delicate veil looked perfect on the now Duchess of Cambridge.
