It looks like things aren’t go so well over on the US X Factor, as Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger have been axed from the show.
Rumours of Steve Jones’ dismissal have been circulating for a while now, but yesterday it was confirmed he will not return to the show next year, along with judge and sexy songstress Nicole Scherzinger.
Steve himself revealed the news and has spoken out about the story on Twitter, saying: “I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame… but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show.”
Fox also confirmed that Nicole, who was brought in to replace Cheryl Cole who was also sacked from the show by Simon Cowell, wouldn’t be returning either.
Fox chief Kevin Reilly had been hinting that big changes needed to be made for the next season of the talent show, he said:
“The hosting gig, the only thing I will say, is, as we know, a much harder job than meets the eye…”
“I think everyone has come to realise the value of a Ryan Seacrest. So whether Steve’s the guy or not, it comes under the heading of ‘growth’ in general.”
Paula Abdul may also be on the chopping line, though there’s no news to confirm this yet.
Looks as if Simon enjoys the whole ‘I’m the boss’, ‘I hire, I fire’ charade… celebrities beware, he’s on the prowl for fresh blood!
And it hasn’t taken long for the rumours to start flying for who will be among the brand new line up for next season, Mariah Carey being one of them.
The question is, who will be the replacements?
