Fans of Sex and the City will be pleased to read the plans for the up and coming new series documenting Carrie’s life before the column and Manolos.
After years of speculation, The Carrie Diaries looks sure to go ahead, treating SATC fans to some more shopping, sex and spending.
The show will be produced by Gossip Girl producers, Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz as well as original creator Candace Bushnell.
Set in the eighties, the series charts the writer’s move from the Midwest to New York City. There will be no mention of the foursome, save for a brief encounter with the formidable character Samantha, played by Kim Cattrall.
The show will be based upon Bushnell’s book of the same name and promises to lift the lid on Carrie’s formative years.
The show will be written by former Sex and the City writer and producer, Amy Harris, tapping into the same popular script style to maintain continuity.
Last year, a third SATC film, was revealed to be going ahead, built upon The Carrie Diaries, and the previous novel, Summer and the City.
Rumour has it that Sarah Jessica Parker will not be involved in the project and speculations over who will fill Carrie’s shoes include Elizabeth Olsen, Gossip Girl Blake Lively and Selena Gomez.
