Victoria Secret Does it Again!

Well as it’s all over again for another year I can’t help but applaud them once again, for no one knows how to do a catwalk better than Victoria Secret.

Just as we convince ourselves that they won’t be able to top last years knock out, the faint noise of jaws dropping around the UK confirms otherwise. Yes, Victoria Secret has completely won over the public once again with yet another magically show and for those who have somehow missed the craze it caused on social networks…#wherehaveyoubeen?

Set in the vibrant city of New York this years show was divided into six sections including ‘Birds of Paradise’ and ‘Parisian Nights’ and most definitely delivered with their multi-million dollar bra. The annual catwalk saw the ‘Angels’ joined by the likes of Taylor Swift and Fall Out Boy who serenaded the ladies while they did what they do best. Unsurprisingly, each of the Angels looked glowing as they modeled outfit after outfit and naturally donned a multiple of wings! With an array of colours, the show was filled with some unusual yet eye catching pieces as well as strong, uniformed numbers during their ‘British Invasion’ segment.

Cara Delevingne also gave us sport chic as she strutted down the catwalk with a football, showing us that it’s not just something for the lads. The show also featured this years ‘Fantasy Bra’ modeled by the beautiful Candice Swanepoel who was given the honour of showing off the incredible gem incrusted bra which has been nicknamed ‘The Royal’. Unfortunately, this might only ever be a ‘fantasy’ as valued at $10 million pounds it’s definitely not ideal for a stocking filler this Christmas.

Like every year, the Angels modeled some incredible outfits; this years knock out section was ‘Snow Angel’ where the girls were joined by Taylor Swift and clearly proved that ‘Girl Power’ really is a thing! With feathers and sparkle, the snow angel section was beautifully put together and created an ideal feel to the winter season. The snow angels segment also featured the first ever outfit to be created using a 3D printer, which was modeled by the elegant Lindsay Ellingson.

With the show being reported to cost a massive 12 million dollars, its success was foreseeable as Victoria Secret proves exactly why their catwalk is one for the style calendar. Sadly, as the heels got higher and wings grew bigger, just as I almost convinced myself that going out in my underwear would be acceptable, it was over for another year. OK, so I would say that this years show was the best ever but having said that last year, I think I’ll leave it at that. Check it out!
