The music industry is in shock at the tragic news that Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48.
Her publicist, Kristen Foster told the media that the singer was found unresponsive yesterday at 4pm whilst at the Beverly Hilton Hotel just a day before this year’s Grammys.
Last week, Houston drew press attention with her erratic behaviour and fears that the legendary singer was once again meddling with drugs were rife as her professional decline became obvious.
In a notorious interview in 2002, Houston told US network ABC: “The biggest devil is me. I’m either my best friend or my worst enemy.”
Friends and fans of the singer took to twitter with their reactions:
Mariah Carey: “Heartbroken and in tears over the shocking death of my friend, the incomparable Ms. Whitney Houston. My heartfelt condolences to Whitney’s family and to all her millions of fans throughout the world.”
Cee-Lo Green: “R.I.P. Sister WHITNEY HOUSTON!!!!! We will always love you.”
