William And Kate To Host L.A. Party

Prince William and Kate MiddletonThe Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are due in Tinsletown this Friday as part of their Royal tour. Top Hollywood celebrities are said to be desperate to wrangle an invite to a special BAFTA event being held by the couple this Saturday.

 

The Royal couple are hosting the ‘Brits To Watch’ event at the Belasco Theatre in Hollywood and it is already proving to be the hottest ticket in town. The event has been created by the British Academy of Film and Television in order to recognise the young British talent who are making waves stateside.

 

Some of the lucky celebrities who have received VIP invitations include; Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks, Kristen Chenoweth, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jack Black. Prince William, who is the President of BAFTA, has invited over 250 prominent Hollywood producers and executives to the event in order to showcase the best that British talent has to offer. British actors and actresses are currently doing very well in America and this success has been dubbed by the media as the ‘British Invasion’.

 

Forty-two young, British actors and actresses have been invited to meet the royal couple at this event. Talulah Riley, star of St. Trinians and The Boat That Rocked, has been invited along with Juno Temple, who is currently filming The Dark Knight Rises alongside Christian Bale.

 

Lucy Davis, best known for playing Dawn in The Office, will be attending alongside her husband Owain Yeoman who has enjoyed huge success stateside for his role as Wayne Rigsby in The Mentalist. Some of the breakout stars from Downtown Abbey and Skins can also be found on the guest list.

 

During their 3-day stay in Los Angeles the newlyweds will also be visiting some inner-city arts schools, attending a UK Trade and Investment reception and Prince William will be playing in a charity polo match. This visit will conclude their first official Royal tour as a married couple.
