Favourite Fashion Trends Of 2012… So Far
Every season brings new fashion trends inspired by the catwalk, some good and some very bad. But for me, Summer 2012 especially has provided some great looks that are really easy to adapt to an individual’s style, shape and personal preference. Here are my top 5 favourite trends of 2012 so far:
Coloured jeans
I owned a pair of pale pink jeans when I was 8 years old and who would have thought that come 2012 they would have made a comeback as a style staple in any wardrobe? I used to believe that jeans should be either blue or black – but seeing the coloured trend in action has definitely disproved this theory. Any shade goes, and for summer the brighter the jeans the better. While I’m not brave enough to try some of the more daring colours, I do love these lilac high-waisted jeans from Topshop. Even better, there are others too that are now £20 in the sale.
Floral prints
Summer is all about bright colours and bold statements and floral prints are a great way to wear these. There is something about floral prints that I’ve always loved – they’re pretty, girlie and fresh. At the moment, prints can be found on just about anything, whether it’s tops or trousers, and there are plenty of ways to wear the trend. A floral print top looks great with just about anything.
Mis-matched bikinis
Whilst on holiday recently, my friend searched for hours in Victoria’s Secret to find a bikini she liked. However, whenever she found a bikini top she wanted, she could not find a pair of matching bikini bottoms. It was bizarre – until we went to the pool and noticed the trend straight away. It seems that everyone is wearing mis-matched bikinis. Whilst I’d never thought of doing this myself, I was surprised by how good it looked. It allows colours, patterns and prints to be mixed and matched – a more laid back beach look.
Head-to-toe white
What can be more summary than wearing all white? Kim Kardashian was recently spotted out in this trend and the shops are full of white tops, trousers and dresses. It’s a really clean-cut look which looks good with a tan.
