Kate Moss is back with a new spring/summer collection for Barcelona retailer Mango. Previous celebrity collaborations with the brand include Penelope Cruz, Olivia Palermo and more recently, Scarlett Johansson.
Despite modelling for the crème de la crème of designer heavyweights and haute couture the newly married model has never snubbed high street labels.
The signing comes as she cuts business ties with Arcadia’s Philip Green, meaning the model is free to work with whomever she chooses.
Moss’s previous TV advertisement with the high street store is said to have impressed the bosses so much that they continued to work with her for their new line. A mango spokes woman said Moss’s work in the earlier TV campaign paved the way for the decision; “Given its success, we decided to use Kate Moss as our brand image.”
Previously the top model created a total of 14 successful collections for Topshop over a span of four years with her final line ending in 2010. When her designs first hit the stores flagship in Oxford Street in May 2007, around 2,000 women queued around the block for the opportunity to get their hands on the models own wardrobe inspired collection.
Kate Moss for Mango will see her reunite with fashion photographer Terry Richardson, showcasing a collection of urban, casual separates. The popular high street chain are well known for their classic tailoring and fashion forward styles in quality materials, all at affordable prices.
Coveted pieces in the range include a coral dress, pale yellow cropped jeans and a black top with black-striped white pants.
Speaking of the collection Moss said: “I’m really excited to be working with Mango for spring/summer 2012…We had a great time shooting the campaign. The team are so easy to work with, and shooting with Terry is always fun.”
