Packed in Vuitton’s trademark brown monogram and embossed with the unmistakable ‘LV’ logo, you would be forgiven for thinking designer clad condoms were the latest item to launch from the luxury French fashion house.
But you would be wrong. The $68 a piece “Louis Vuitton” condoms went viral on twitter just days ago but are not officially endorsed by the brand.
The woman behind the stint is artist Irakli Kiziria who last December collaborated with Design Provocation in a project for World Aids day. Last week she found her creation featured on The Huffington Post’s website, resulting in her own site crashing.
A spokesperson for Louis Vuitton declined to comment on the “designer” condoms but I think it’s safe to say we will be sticking with more tried and tested methods. Or JLS.
