Where: The Palace Hotel, Oxford Road, Manchester City Centre, M60 7HA.

Sofia Couture Launch at The Palace HotelSofia Dourvari launched Sofia Couture, a high-end, luxury range of women’s clothing, earlier this year with a soft launch fashion show. Now, for her second catwalk show, around 25 pieces will be showcased. Highlights will include a limited edition Valentine’s collection, finishing the evening with some of her more creative, highly-stylized pieces. All the garments are inspired by the designer’s Greek heritage combined with the earth’s natural elements, featuring flowing dresses inspired by  wind, water and nature.

All items are bespoke and Sofia Couture offers an alterations service on all of her garments, making them truly tailored, customized and unique to the wearer.

Sofia Dourvari, age 30, originally from Athens, Greece, studied Fashion Design at Salford University then went on to complete a Masters in Textiles Technology at the University of Manchester. During her time studying, she won the Best Designer Award in the International Student Festival (2007).

She has lived and worked in Manchester for ten years now and she is looking to break into the vibrant UK fashion community.

Sofia DourvariSofia says: “The first fashion show was a huge success and due to demand, we decided to host another one to show my winter collection along with some new creative pieces. Fashion and design have always been my passions and since graduating I have worked for many fashion houses, both in the UK and abroad. Whilst in full time employment I have still managed to design and create dresses on a small scale for friends and family but feels like a dream come true to be showcasing my collection to a wider audience.”

Sofia is also keen to secure boutique shop space in the city centre so is happy to receive enquiries from outlets.

Sofia Couture will also be showing her latest dresses at Birmingham Fashion Week and Manchester Fashion Week in March 2013, as well as showcasing a new collection for S/S ‘13.

The garments are available to purchase directly from Sofia and will be altered to suit the size requirements of the wearer. Special prices are available on the night with garments starting from just £150.00.

Tickets for the event are priced at £5.00 and are available by contacting Sofia directly on 07528 868 053. Goody bags will presented to all guests who attend the show.
