Texture Me

Textured Pleat Tunic - TopshopIt’s exciting seeing the high street stores being stocked up with all new Autumn/Winter collections and I’m loving it (not the cold rainy weather though). I’ve noticed lots of textures about so far this season so what better way to keep warm and stylish whilst snuggling up in a comfy fluffy jumper. Everyone will be stroking your arm because the material is so silky and soft!

Lana Del Rey is seen wearing a pink (with angora) jumper for H&M. You can edge this up with a biker jacket and jeans or over a dress and tights to keep warm. H&M also are displaying textured skirts and jackets in their new collection. I think everyone’s loving H&M at the moment, they have some great pieces this A/W and affordable prices too (what more could you want).

The texture doesn’t stop there. Take a look at Topshop for textured day and evening dresses, I love their textured tunic. I can’t help feeling this is a bit of a bargain for Topshop at £26, I expected the price to be higher. They stock it in different colours too but I’m drawn to this Khaki one as it fits in with the military trend. I’ll be wearing mine with tights and a leather jacket and biker boots and swap the boots for some suede heels for a night time look, perfect!

Embellishment is also popular at the moment, you can really make a statement with wearing a large jewelry piece or a dress or small embellishment detailing on shirt collars or pockets. Keep the rest of your outfit low key and your ready to go. I like looking at the beautiful pieces; they can be really interesting. Hand embellishment fascinates me when I think about how much patience and effort someone has put into making that particular garment. That said, I’d love to make my own individual item.
