Christian Louboutin is celebrating 20 years of his iconic red soled shoes with Parisian cabaret show ‘Le Crazy Horse’.
The designer will become the first ever ‘guest creator’ in the history of the erotic cabaret club who in turn celebrate their 60th anniversary this year.
The show will have four diverse tableaux inspired by everything from hip hop to fine art and is said to be brimming with talent with original compositions by Swizz Beats and David Lynch; whilst Gilles Papain worked on video design. Guest appearances from Dita Von Tease and Pamela Anderson are also expected.
To honour the occasion, the designer posed for an animated portrait, positioned aptly between two naked ladies, save from their unmistakable Louboutin heels.
“Crazy horse is an iconic Paris monument, a monument to dance, a fantastic, modern idea of the celebration of women for women. I am interested in all things that ‘celebrate and enhance’ the female form. Because of what I do, for these numbers I have focused on the lower half of the body, rather than the top. The language of legs can express any and every feeling, and without giving too much away, the body.”
“Christian Louboutin and Crazy Horse Paris are symbols of Parisian life whose worlds know no borders; symbols of the world of creativity, wonder and modernity,” Andrée Deissenberg, managing director of Crazy Horse Paris Group, said.
“They share the same sources of inspiration – women, of course, but also the world around them – and both are exceptionally skilled at producing unique and surprising creations. This is why Christian Louboutin was the natural choice as our first guest creator.”
The show, entitled Feu (‘fire’ in French) will preview on March 4th.
