Value for Versace

Helena Christensen and Blake LivelyLast night saw Versace’s eagerly awaited collection for H&M launch in New York, with fashion royalty Helena Christensen and Uma Therman to name but a few celebrating the designer’s first high street collaboration.

These are not clothes for the minimalists among us. Those who favour pastel colours and nude accessories may wish to steer clear, but if one thing’s for certain; the collection has not compromised on being true to the Versace brand; one of pure unadulterated glamour.

It’s a message that represents itself well in the clothes. Donatella cleverly chose to return to the styles she is best known for, the ones that make it unrecognisably Versace. Hence the animal print t-shirt dress, the biker jackets, silk bustier tops and by no means least, the leather studded pieces.

Speaking of the line, Versace said; “I am so pleased to share with so many the excitement of this collaboration with H&M. To have my friend, the great, the amazing, the one and only Prince, and the extraordinary Nicki Minaj both perform at the event, will create exactly the feeling of joy and glamour I want this partnership to express.”

A simple reminder this collection intends to do nothing by halves, or the woman behind it.
